Rappelling
Descend Tall Cliffs via Technical Rope SkillsIt's true what they say: What goes up must come down. Which is why rappelling (a.k.a. sliding down a rope) is a core competency for any climber, mountaineer, or canyoneer. Fortunately, rappelling isn't all that difficult; it requires much less physical effort and ability than climbing does, because you are going with gravity, instead of against it. Devils Lake is chock-full of gorgeous cliffs in a great variety of heights, so it's a fantastic place to learn and practice rappelling. Challenge yourself to learn a new skill and enjoy the freedom of balance, exposure and control.
